Planning for victory and other daily tasks..

If you happened to flip on your T.V. around 10 this morning, you couldn't really avoid Bush's anticipated speech on the war in Iraq (W.'s competition was pretty much limited to cartoons and the Gilmore Girls). The New York Times covers Bush's remarks, which outlined a"Plan for Victory" and general strategy for the continued involvement in Iraq. Bush again rejected the timetable for withdrawal of troops called for by Congressman Murtha and now backed by House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi. Check out Wonkette to see just how intently the midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis were listening.

Far more interesting than Bush's speech is a top story, and most e-mailed article, from The Los Angeles Times. While stateside media has been criticized for CIA leaks, Baghdad newspapers have been running articles written by U.S. soldiers in attempts to bolster local opinions of the U.S. and Iraqi military.
